The 1.1 version of the Apache License was approved by the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) in 2000.

 

II. Current Status
 
On ASF’s website, the Apache 1.1 has been classified under the category of history. Some PHP modules, however, are still using the Apache 1.1 as their license, e.g. Log4J Logging and parts of the application modules of XOOPS.
 
III. Rights and Duties
 
 1. Licensee’s Rights
 
Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, are permitted provided that the applicable conditions are met.
 
 2. Licensee’s Duties
 
    (1) Redistributions of source code must retain the copyright notice, a complete list of license conditions.
 
    (2) Redistributions in binary form must reproduce the copyright notice, the complete list of license conditions in the documentation and/or other materials.
 
    (3) The end-user documentation included with the redistribution, if any, must include the following acknowledgment:“This product includes software developed by the Apache Software Foundation (https://www.apache.org/).” This acknowledgment may appear in the software itself, if and wherever such third-party acknowledgments normally appear.
 
    (4) The names “Apache” and “Apache Software Foundation” must not be used to endorse or promote products derived from this software without prior written permission.
 
Products derived from this software may not be called “Apache”, nor may “Apache” appear in their name, without prior written permission of the ASF.
